Samsung Galaxy Note 8 News And Update: Codename 'Baikal' For Next Phablet Flagship
Despite the Galaxy Note 7's downfall last year, Samsung is now working on the phone's successor: the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. There were already reports regarding its features.
Rumors had been surfacing the internet that the codename of the Galaxy Note 8 is "Baikal". Ubergizmo reported that Baikal is a lake in southern Siberia which is believed to be the world's deepest lake. This is relevant to the Galaxy Note 8 as it remains to be seen.
According to Tech Radar, the Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to have a large and foldable screen. It was also rumored that Samsung will release 2 foldable phones this year. There's this Samsung Galaxy X but the Note 8 might also just be one of them. The phone is also said to have a 4K display to accommodate the Gear VR. The Note 8 might also ditch the home button.
Techradar reported that the Galaxy Note 8 might have a dual-lens camera. The Galaxy S8 is rumored to have a dual lens ranging from 12 MP and 13 MP and a 30 MP single lens camera. With the current dual lens camera trend, Galaxy Note 8 might also have this camera. Optical image stabilization may also be present in the phone's camera s it was present in its predecessor.
The Note 8 is most likely to have either the Snapdragon 830 which is rumored to have 3.2 GHz octa-core processor or the Exynos 8895 which has a 3 GHz octa-core chip. The phone might also have atleast 4GB of RAM or even a 6 or 8GB. Android Nougat or O will be the Note 8's operating system with the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface. (techradar.com)
The battery is more likely to atleast have 3500 mAh just like the Note 7. It is also rumored to support fast charging. After the Galaxy Note 7's battery failure, Samsung is now focused on the batteries of future Samsung devices.The new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to be released in September.
