Meghan Trainor Joins 'Smurfs:The Lost Village' Featuring Original Song 'I’m a Lady'
Sony Pictures Animation film, "Smurfs: The Lost Village," features Grammy Awards Best New Artist, Meghan Trainor. The animated film will be featuring the song "I'm a Lady" written and performed by Meghan Trainor herself.
Meghan Trainor can't contain her happiness after the announcement that she will be voicing one of the new characters of the film "Smurfs: The Lost Village." She will be "SmurfMelody" in the animated film that opens in cinemas on March 29.
"I'm so excited to be singing 'I'm a Lady' for this movie," said Trainor. "It's a song that I love and am very proud of, and I can't wait for the world to finally hear it! Getting to play a small part in the film with my character, SmurfMelody, makes this all the more exciting! So happy to be a part of the Smurfs family!!!" shared InqPop!.
As described by Sony pictures, the animated movie "Smurfs: The Lost Village," is about a mysterious map that sets Smurfette and other Smurfs Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting and thrilling race through the Forbidden Forest filled with magical creatures to find a mysterious lost village before the evil wizard Gargamel does. Embarking on a rollercoaster journey full of action and danger, the Smurfs are on a course that leads to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history.
The Animated film is directed by Kelly Asbury and written by Stacey Harman and Pamela Ribon. The film is based on the character and works of Peyo and produced by Jordan Kerner, Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews.
Meghan Trainor's voice as SmurfMelody will be joined by other famous Hollywood stars starring Demi Lovato as Smurfette, Rainn Wilson as Gargamel with Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf, Julia Roberts as SmurfWillow and much more. The film opens in the US on April 7, 2017.
