'Feud' Season 2 Will Feature Prince Charles and Princess Diana's Extramarital Affairs
Many TV shows have explored historical events surrounding public figures and fans will see this again in Ryan Murphy's upcoming "Feud" Season 2, which will feature the marital problems of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Season 1 has just started on March 5, and people are already talking about it.
Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" and "American Crime Story" both did very well commercially on FX, which made the studio more confident in ordering "Feud" Season 2 ahead of the show's Season 1 premiere. The first season will revolve around the rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford during their 1962 movie "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?"
As for the second season, Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that he will not do another Hollywood story about women versus women feuds. "I don't think you can top Bette and Joan," the award-winning producer said. Instead, Murphy will explore the relationship of the United Kingdom's Prince Charles and Princess Diana for "Feud" Season 2.
Murphy went on to say that the Bette and Joan feud, which lasted 40 years, could have been resolved quickly if the two women had just talked it out. He also said that since he already explored that story in the first season, the rest of the seasons will look at sports feuds, fights between men, feuds in the sixteenth century, and more. That's why "Feud" Season 2 will focus on how Prince Charles and Princess Diana's marriage fell apart.
Speaking to E! News, Murphy said that he was always a fan of Princess Diana and her humanitarian work. He said that he wanted to explore the themes of divorce and pain and how it drove a married couple apart. When asked whether Sarah Paulson or Jessica Lange would star in his "Feud" Season 2, Murphy said it was neither.
Although he didn't reveal who would star in "Feud: Charles and Diana", Murphy did say that the cast and crew will be shooting in England for most of the story. He also said that it will be an international cast. Catherine Zeta Jones, who is part of the show's first season, said she wanted no part of "Feud" Season 2 because she was close to the parties involved. "Feud" Season 1 just started on FX with eight episodes.
