‘Orange Is The New Black’ Actress Samira Wiley Partied In Miami With Fiancée, Co-Stars
Samira Wiley is getting hitched. The "Orange Is The New Black" actress went out partying in Miami with her fiancée and co-stars.
In October 2016, Samira Wiley got engaged with Netflix hit series "Orange Is The New Black" writer Lauren Morelli. And on Friday night, the couple decided to throw a bachelorette bash at E11EVEN, a popular Miami club. E! Online said the couple was joined by Wiley's fellow "OINTB" stars, Uzo Aduba and Danielle Brooks.
At the Miami hotspot, Samira Wiley and guests got themselves a bottle each of Don Julio 1942 and Belvedere. They enjoyed their two magnums well into the early hours of the morning. Mail Online reported that the group partied until 6 am, as evidenced by a tweet from Danielle Brooks. The actress also added that the party was "lit."
Aside from it being a bachelorette party, the Miami bash was also a celebration for Samira Wiley's 30th birthday. The actress, who portrayed Poussey Washington in "Orange Is The New Black," does not turn another year old until Apr. 15, however. Nevertheless, the club put up a banner that said "Happy Birthday & Congratulations Samira" close to the bar.
Lauren Morelli and Samira Wiley first met each other on the set of "Orange Is The New Black." According to Time, during that period the show writer was already married to her long-term boyfriend. However, she began doubting her own sexuality and realized that she was a lesbian. After that, she divorced her husband and started dating Wiley two years after they met.
Last year, the pair was set to have a weekend retreat in Palm Springs. It occurred to Morelli to propose to her partner, Samira Wiley, before they headed out for their getaway. The writer revealed that she was very nervous when she received the ring she ordered for the "Orange Is The New Black" cast member. Although the 29-year-old actress hyperventilated when her partner popped the question, she happily answered "Yes" and shared the news on Instagram.
