‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Plot Details: What We Know So Far
The official full trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" should be enough to tell viewers what to expect from the film. The preview not only revealed the new characters but also teased a possible plot.
The official trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" saw the film's main villain Ayesha. The preview did not really show how she could be the antagonist in the movie. It is likely that her intention to clean the universe of weaknesses pit her against the Guardians.
The Hollywood Reporter pointed out Ayesha's lines in the trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." She confronted the Guardians and told them what she sees in them. She talked about cleansing the universe of fear, jealousy and betrayal.
According to the publication, Ayesha's cinematic version does not align with her story in the comics. It is supposedly likely that she represents another character in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Her intention supposedly mimics that of Adam Warlock's intentions.
Meanwhile, the trailer confirmed that Yondu and Nebula have changed alliances in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." They have joined Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot. Yondu's decision to leave the Ravagers adds another plot to the film. It makes him a target by his former comrades and it leaves the Guardians vulnerable to their attacks.
As for Nebula, viewers will learn more about her backstory in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." Karen Gillan said that when the film opens, her character makes it her mission to reunite with her sister. Gillan said that viewers will learn more about their family history. "She's also on a mission to find Gamora and rectify a few things there as well and we're going to find out a lot about their back story and learn a lot about Thanos' parenting skills and maybe how dysfunctional the entire thing is," Gillan told Comicbook.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" opens in US theaters on May 5, 2017. The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Kurt Russell.
