‘Justice League’ Footage Secrets Revealed: Momoa’s Aquaman Not CG

Earlier this March, director Zack Snyder offered fans a glimpse into the film DC team-up film that also stars Jason Momoa. He showed the underwater king at home in his watery domain and has now revealed how that "Justice League" footage featuring Aquaman was created.

Zack Snyder shared on social media platform Vero an of the former "Game of Thrones" star. In it, he is seen surrounded by green. At his back, the crew operating the harness is even bedecked in green. The director also captioned the photo. He clarified that everything in that "Justice League" footage was special effects save for Momoa himself, ScreenRant shared.

Entertainment website Slash FILM also pointed out that Momoa's hair was tied up in the image Snyder shared. According to the writer, it was so that special effects could be added later on. In fact, the "Justice League" footage showed that Arthur Curry's hair was billowing about the water.

The previous "Justice League" footage showed Momoa's character, Arthur Curry, navigating the waters to a throne. Aquaman swam to it so seamlessly and the harness holding up Momoa has to be thanked for that. Evidently, the same machine would be used in the filming of "Aquaman," directed by James Wan.

Although the "Justice League" footage showed Aquaman underwater, it is unclear how much of that fans will see in the actual movie. After all, most of the battle will occur above ground. And since everyone would be busy fighting, there might not be enough time to see more of Aquaman at his home turf.

DC are having a field year, as the superhero household are expected to screen three movies this year. The first one is the stand-alone film "Wonder Woman" in summertime. It will be followed by the superhero dream team flick that will feature that "Justice League" footage too. And come November, fans will see Momoa's solo film, "Aquaman."
