Prince William & Kate Middleton News: Add Brexit Unofficial Ambassadors to Their Royal Duties

Prince William and Kate Middleton have several trips planned out for in the next few months. The popular royal couple is headed for a two-day trip to France later this month. In July, they are headed to Germany and Poland which are upon the request of the Foreign and Common Wealth Office.

Royal observers can’t help but notice that Queen Elizabeth may be using Prince William and Kate Middleton to charm European leaders to support Brexit reports Express . The entire Windsor family are known supporters of Brexit and the Queen wants to hold the British Commonwealth nations together despite Britain’s decision to withdraw. William, however, is against it.

That fact didn’t stop Queen Elizabeth from sending Prince William and Kate Middleton to act as unofficial Brexit ambassadors. She sent them on a trip to Rotterdam and The Hague back in October says Mail Online. They smiled and mingled with diplomats hoping that the "soft diplomacy", which they are famous for, will help in maintaining ties with other European Nations.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have not toured Poland on behalf of the government before. Kate herself has not made an official trip to Germany. Kensington Palace announced that details of the royal couple’s trip will be released at a later date. It is also doubtful whether they will be taking their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, in the trip.

Critics of the English monarchy think that sending Kate Middleton as an ambassador might not help Queen Elizabeth at all, however. Kate is seen more as a celebrity in a social function rather than promoting something as serious as the Brexit. Other than generating headlines for the monarchy with their smiles and waves, she and Prince William are seen as not capable of doing more.

No one can discount that Queen Elizabeth is an intelligent ruler and she acknowledges the popularity and goodwill that the next generation royal couple can generate. So far, Prince William and Kate Middleton remain as her perfect option to espouse her mission. That is, for the entire European Nation to make an inevitable decision on Brexit.
