DFA Records, the record label that hosts (or hosted) acts like LCD Soundsystem, YACHT, the Rapture and Holy Ghost! is celebrating its 12 year anniversary. In Too Old to Be New, Too New To Be Classic Red Bull Music Academy provides a rapid-fire retrospective on the label started by James Murphy, Johnathin Galkin and Tim Goldsworthy.

The self-deprecating and self-aware title serves perfectly for the label that, lest we forget, gave us the essentially the entire career of LCD Soundsystem including the cred-questioning classic "Losing My Edge."

Check out the clip below:

The film is narrated by Marc Maron and directed by Catfish's Max Joseph. It's pretty funny and entertaining throughout. It portrays the label as a family with Murphy as the absentee father and Galkin as an overbearing Jewish mother.

However, the clip is hardly the end of the anniversary magic.

The label is having an anniversary party on May 25 in BK's Grand Prospect Hall that, according to SPIN, will feature Murphy, Shit Robot, the Juan MacLean, Crystal Ark, Pat Mahoney, Nancy Whang, Tim Sweeney, YACHT, members of the Rapture, Factory Floor, Prinzhorn Dance School, Planningtorock, Larry Gus, Dan Bodan, Black Dice, Still Going, and Marcus Marr.
