The AMD Ryzen is getting the spotlight for AMD products these past few months. And trailing behind its light is AMD Vega GPU that is expected to be released after Zen. Now isn't it better if these two will merge into a chip to make it the only chip everyone would need? AMD Raven Ridge might actually be the one to accomplish that. And it is said that the ultimate AMD chip would be seen first on newest Apple MacBook.

So what is AMD Raven Ridge? The AMD Raven Ridge is a chip that is designed to work like a CPU and GPU. This design has been called APU or Accelerated Processing Unit. It is similar to Intel's Integrated Graphics. According to Auto World News, he chip will both have Zen and Vega cores and it will be is rumored that 4 Zen CPU cores and 11 Vega GPU cores will be included.

According to Bloomberg, Apple has been searching for possible new chips five years ago. When Apple thought that their MacBooks is better with longer battery life and longer usage, they have been in obsessed in optimizing the battery life without compromising performance. A new MacBook model will be released this year, and it is rumored that it will house the AMD Raven Ridge.

The talk that Apple will soon abandon Intel has been around for a long time. The only thing that prevented Apple from moving is that there is no competition for Intel for quite a long time. It is also rumored that Apple will be trusting the performance of their iMac 2017 to the new AMD Ryzen CPU. With AMD Ryzen, AMD Vega, and AMD Raven Ridge all coming to 2017, Apple might find the situation to change chip manufacturers favorable. Cheaper chips, low power consumption, Intel must really give something more to secure their market position.
