‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Season 3: Season 2 Finale Opens New Challenges; EP Talks New Characters

Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3 is going to present new and difficult challenges for the heroes following the events in the Season 2 Finale. Likewise, executive producer Phil Klemmer says the cliffhanger in the finale teases the addition of new characters.

The events in the Season 2 Finale shape up the challenges that await the heroes in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3. To recap, the team managed to prevent the Legion of Doom from changing reality when they traveled back in time to retrieve the Spear of Destiny. The Legends succeeded in defeating the villains and inadvertently unintentionally changed reality in the process.

The team ended up traveling back to 2017 Los Angeles in the Season 2 Finale, according to TV Line. However, everything has changed. After all, the Legends broke the cardinal rule of time travel and they must now face the consequences in the present. "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3 brings the heroes in a place where time has turned into a mix of periods. The finale saw a mish-mash of pre-historic and futuristic era, with dinosaurs exists amid high-tech skyscrapers.

"['Legends of Tomorrow'] Season 3 is going to be totally different, it's not going to be just fixing these simple aberrations and then moving on," Klemmer told Entertainment Weekly. He teased that the installment does not just pick up where the Season 2 Finale left off. Klemmer said the installment will have a change in dynamic.

Likewise, "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3 will have new characters. Klemmer teased that fans will see new people join the heroes and possibly meet new villains. However, he did not say whether the Legion of Doom returns following their demise in the Season 2 Finale.

Regardless, Klemmer assured that "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3 will introduce new members going into the season. He said that the cliffhanger in the Season 2 Finale provided the seismic shift in the show.
