Google Launches ‘Developer Preview 3’ for Android Things

Google has released "Android Things Developer Preview 3," which gives a sneak peek into the developments on the "Internet of Things" based on Android. The third developer preview is an evolution of the "Android Things" that was released in 2015.

Google continued the development of its embedded platform on Android with the latest Developer Preview 3. The company is adding new features and bug fixes to the latest patch. The new update adds Bluetooth and more connectivity options over the USB, and support for existing Android API for Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy.

Google's goal with the Android Things platform is to allow developers to make Internet of Things devices with their existing knowledge of Android and its related services. The USB host mode will come in handy when the peripheral devices will start using it in the future.
