LG G6 Goes For A Torture Test Via Rube Goldberg Machine; Smartphone Features Solid Durability
LG G6 is the company's flagship smartphone for 2017 and it will be competing with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8. The smartphone packs impressive features and hardware, but how does it fair when its tortured by bending machines?
LG smartphones are less known for their ruggedness and durability. Also, most of the smartphones from the company do not feature water and dust protection which is now becoming a common add-on in most of the flagship smartphones. The Korean manufacturer now hopes to bring some ruggedness and durability to its smartphones.
LG G6 is not a rugged device and neither the company claims it to be. However, several tests give us a fair idea that LG has made a durable device. In the tests, LG G6 was tortured using a Rube Goldberg machine. The LG G6 is rated as IP68 device meaning it can be submerged under water for 30 minutes and up to 1.5 meters, Android Authority reported.
In the various tests, Rube Goldberg machine tortures LG G6 in almost every way possible. The tests include a one-meter drop test, heat test, cold test, water resistance test and a battery cooling test that almost takes a dig at the Galaxy Note 7. LG G6 has capably handled the all the tests and the device came out with good results.
Rube Goldberg machine tests the capabilities of the device under extreme conditions. The tests also put claims made by LG about the LG G6 to further assessments. Some features of the smartphone are also demonstrated in the video including Quick Charge 3.0 and the dual Wide Angle Camera that is a major feature of the smartphone, Slashgear reported.
The specifications of the LG G6 include a Snapdragon 821 SoC with 4GB RAM, a 5.7-inch display with a 564ppi pixel density, dual 13MP cameras at the back and a 3300mAh battery. The smartphone also features wireless charging and is one of the first devices to sport an HDR display.
