'Frozen 2' Release Date: Kristen Bell Announces 'Frozen' Sequel Will Debut In 2019
"Frozen" was a hit and since it dominated the theaters, many were already looking forward to its sequel. Finally, "Frozen 2" has a release date and it will be coming in 2019.
It's been over three years since "Frozen" was released. "Frozen 2" has been in talks for years, but there was no concrete information as to when it will be released.
This week, Kristen Bell announced that "Frozen 2" will be released on Nov. 27, 2019. In a post on her Twitter, the "Bad Moms" star shared a Disney Animation clip and dropped the date. "Quick weather forecast from your favorite Disney princess' sister: Theaters are gonna get Frozen on November 27, 2019! Woo Hoo!!!!" she wrote in the caption.
Aside from the release date of "Frozen 2," Bell shared that her daughters, Lincoln, 4, and Delta, 2, love the movie. However, her little ones do not need her to sing it.
"They do. They like the dolls more than the actual content," said the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star told Entertainment Tonight. "Although they just don't like it when I sing along with any of the songs. They have me zip it real quick."
So what can fans expect in "Frozen 2?" Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will both reprise their roles as Anna and Elsa, respectively. Olaf (Josh Gad) will return too. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lee will return to helm the anticipated film.
In addition to this, since "Frozen's" song "Let It Go," was a hit, Disney is now pressured to make a successful musical sequel. However, this comes with its own challenges too.
"But the problem with musicals is - unlike films in general - they just don't spawn successful sequels," said Robbie Collin, Telegraph reported. He added that when it comes to musical score, it goes beyond the singer's performance and more on the staging where the song fits the narrative. It's how it displays the emotions of the song.
