The backlash for "13 Reasons Why" has not stopped and Paris Jackson has joined in the fight. However, Selena Gomez is sticking with her show. She recently defended the Netflix series, finally addressing all the criticism.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Selena Gomez told the AP that her "13 Reasons Why" team stayed "true" to Jay Asher's book. The hit series continues to receive negative remarks from mental health organizations and experts. For the ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber, suicide is "not an easy subject to talk about."

On the other hand, Selena Gomez note that she is "fortunate" to see the series gaining a lot of interest from the masses. She also said she is "very proud" of "13 Reasons Why." It has since become a topic of discussion on social media and other platforms as it tackled the other side of suicide.

E! News notes that Netflix has taken the initiative to change the show's warnings. The move was made as Selena Gomez's show continues to receive tremendous backlash from around the globe. The streaming service has now added "an additional viewer warning card" before every episode is played.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez had a great time at the MET Gala 2017. With The Weeknd in tow, the couple finally made their red carpet debut. According to Vogue, the "13 Reasons Why" EP donned a silk chiffon dress. The dress spoke of hand-sewn floral designs.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd also made sure to keep their hands close to each other at the MET Gala. As cameras clicked, the couple displayed major PDA and smiled for the photographers who were mesmerized as the singer's new look.

As fans know, Selena Gomez recently debuted short hair on social media. While some fans missed her longer locks, most loved her bob cut. The Weeknd split rumors emerged but apparently, the new hairdo was just for a change. It didn't suggest anything about a breakup.
