‘Rick and Morty’ Season 3 Release, Updates and More: What We Know So Far
Adult Swim has yet to give more updates on the release of the succeeding episodes in "Rick and Morty" Season 3. As far as fans know, the show will return this Summer and that all episodes have already been written.
According to Den of Greek, the only thing delaying the release of the succeeding episodes in "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is the animation. The writers have completed all the episode stories and what is lacking is the recording and the animation.
At least fans already saw a preview of what "Rick and Morty" Season 3 will be like moving forward, following the release of Episode 1. The episode, titled "The Rickshank Rickdemption," aired on April 1 and saw Rick escape the Galactic Federation prison and return to his family. The federation also ceased its rule on Earth. What lies ahead for the scientist remains unclear at this moment, since the showrunners have remained mum on the potential story for Episode 2.
As a consolation, the writers have revealed the title for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2, which is "Rickmancing the Stone." Speculations are rife that the episode will take inspiration from the 1980s adventure film "Romancing the Stone." The story will likely follow Rick and Morty on an adventure to find a treasure or to rescue Morty's sister Summer.
Meanwhile, "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 4 will have Rick especially drunk, according to Nerdist. Voice actor and co-showrunner Justin Roiland had to method act to portray the character well. He had to drink shots of tequila to slur Rick's voice.
As for the other episodes in "Rick and Morty" Season 3, the writers have taken to their respective Twitter accounts to tease the story. Dan Guterman hinted that Episode 7 is called the "Great Collaboration." Meanwhile, Jessica Gao hinted that Episode 3 might have a reference to Season 2 Episode 8 "Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate." "I think Rick and Morty will agree this episode is going to knock your d**ks off, " she tweeted.
