Donald Trump's Images Holding Mysterious Glowing Orb Just Became Most Popular Meme On Internet
Donald Trump's photo with King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Abdel Fatah al-Sisi while holding a mysterious glowing orb stirred the people of Twitter and the internet. Trump is currently attending an event in Riyadh, and his picture in the event has become a source of memes for lurking trolls on the internet.
It seems like everything Trump would do will stir creativity for the people of the internet. Even his stay at Riyadh at the opening of new Global Centre for Combating Extremist Ideology never escaped the eagle eyes of the netizens. There are more than 200 data analysts that work at the center, and one of the purposes of the event is for the center's inauguration, as reported by The Guardian. President Trump, King Abdulaziz, and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi have put their hands on the orb for two minutes to activate the center. The audiences were welcomed by a splashy welcome video.
And hours later, Twitter exploded with the talk of the mysterious glowing orb. From "Harry Potter" to Hydra from Marvel Comics, to interdimensional orbs and "The Wizard of Oz", and even the "Lord of the Rings" became an orb reference. People on Twitter is even having discussions if the #orb is evil or not.
Twitter User Paul Melancon also compared the photo to a "Star Trek" broadcast from 1968, writing the caption "I hate to be in the position of defending the man, but, you know, this whole #orb thing could have been much worse". Twitter user cinegirl14 also made a reference from the scene in "Wizard of Oz" where Wicked Witch and one of her winged monkeys are talking while a crystal is shown Dorothy's face, as reported by The Washington Post.
Though the orb is not really an orb, as pointed out by Twitter user James Poniewozik. It was actually a glowing globe and the continents can be seen in black color. He captioned "Everyone freaking out, it's a GLOVE. You can see the continents. Just a conclave of powerful men laying hands on a fiery glove. This is normal."
