Italienne: The Two-Faced European Restaurant In New York City, Offers Italian & French Cuisine

Italienne, a restaurant that can be found in the busy streets of New York City offers both French and Italian experience. Jared Sippel has successfully combined two worlds in one perfect restaurant. 

Jared Sippel, who once worked at Frasca Food & Wine, has decided to his dream restaurant. Though it seems like he has two dream restaurants: French and Italian. Sippel decided to be more creative and put two different worlds into one with his restaurant: Italienne. The restaurant name is even quite interesting, as the meaning of it is "Italian in French". So is it an Italian or a French restaurant? Let's find out.

Italienne has two room for each cuisine, a separate room for Italian foods and another room for French foods, as reported by The New York Times. The first room is called the Taverna, which is in the front of the restaurant. This area is for the customers who likes to have a great time with Italian food. The menu consists of different Italian food from Stuzzichini to Charcuterie and Formaggi. From 12:00NN to 2:00 PM, two-course lunch menu and a-la-carte selections are offered. Family style menu is offered when the clock reached 5:30 PM.

The second part of the place, past the Taverna, is the Dining Room, which is more appealing to customers who prefers French food. Vichysoisse, Cappelacci, Trofie, and other different kinds of French food is on the menu. Italienne offers 6-course Chefs tasting menu, and a traditional a-la0carte menu, as shown by Italienne's official site. The Dining Room offers a 4-course set menu for $70. 

Italienne head crew is consists of 3 other members. Erica O'Neal, who have been a sommelier at Frasca, is in charge of wines and beverages. Rebecca Isbell, who is in charge of pastries and desserts at Betony before resumed this very job at Italienne. Last but not the least is James King, who both worked at Frasca and Brooklyn Fare.
