'American Idol': Mariah Carey, PSY, Keith Urban, Adam Lambert To Perform During Season Finale
The American Idol season finale is tonight and it appears that the troubled FOX singing competition will stay the course and continue on in its "promote our own product at any cost" ways. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season finale will feature performances from Mariah Carey (an American Idol judge), Keith Urban (samesies) and Adam Lambert (a guy who once lost on American Idol). The only non-AI chum who will perform during tonight's season finale is K-Pop novelty rapper PSY (which just solidifies the image of American Idol as a program that's lagging behind in the pop culture pantheon).
To Carey's credit, she is a lot more than just an American Idol judge. I mean, she wrote Daydream, ya know? With Randy Jackson on bass and a gospel choir providing back-up vocals, Mariah will perform her new song "#Beautiful" along with a medley of her hits including "Vision of Love," "Make It Happen," "We Belong Together," "My All," and "Hero."
Keith Urban will perform his new single "Little Bit of Everything" and PSY will perform "Gentleman."
Adam Lambert will be dueting with a current contestant; along with Angie Miller, The Band Perry and Franki Valli (did that last name make anyone else do a double take)?
