Drake's OVO Fest 2013 Lineup: Frank Ocean, James Blake, 'No New Friends' Rapper Headline 4th Annual 'October's Very Own' Festival in Toronto August 4-5
Drake may be working on his "No New Friends" video with Rick Ross & DJ Khaled, but the "Started From the Bottom" rapper has recruited some new friends of his own to headline the 4th annual OVO Fest 2013, which include Frank Ocean & James Blake.
The 24-year-old Canadian rapper made the announcement yesterday, May 15th, on his October's Very Own blog, revealing the dates for the two-day OVO festival (named after his October's Very Own label). This year's event will take place on Sunday August 4th and Monday August 5th at the Molson Canadian Ampphitheatre in Toronto, Ontario (Drake's home town).
While R&B star and Odd Future member, Frank Ocean, will open up this year's OVO fest with singer-songwriter James Blake on August 4th, Drizzy will traditionally headline his own festival when he takes the stage with some unannounced "special guests" on the second day, August 5th.
Tickets start at $49.50 and will go on sale on Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. via Live Nation.
Drake makes sure to "Take Care" of his hometown, as he traditionally hooks Toronto up with the best of the best at his annual fests. Last year, Drake's artist line up included The Weeknd, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, French Montana, Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj.
During the 1st and 2nd annual OVO Fest, special guests included Lil Wayne, Nas, Jay-Z, Eminiem and J.Cole.
Drake's third proper album, Nothing Was The Same, is due out later this year, reports Hip Hop Wired. Look for his brand new video "No New Friends" (where Drake is clad in a throwback "OG black and yellow Dada shorts set") to drop soon!
