'Random Access Memories' Collaboration, Google Now Taps Giorgio Moroder To Soundtrack New Game 'Racer'

It's a good time to be Giorgio Moroder. The legendary producer just came off a critically acclaimed collaboration with Daft Punk on their highly anticipated Random Access Memories, he's featured prominently in this month's Dazed and Confused magazine and now, he's been tapped by Google to soundtrack their new Racer that was demoed at Google's I/O yesterday.

We'll say this. The old man's still got it. The builds are fantastic and the synth melody is super-catchy and reminiscent of Nintendo racing games (or, if you're a little older, trigger-controlled racetracks). It is interesting that Moroder chose to make such a big house, EDM-style track so soon after coming off his Daft Punk disco collaboration.

In case you haven't heard, Daft Punk aren't fans of EDM (and if Diplo's comments are any indication, EDM is no fan of theirs).
