Saturday Night Live Recap [VIDEOS]: May, 18 2013, Ben Affleck Hosts SNL with Musical Guest: Kanye West
Last night we got to see the season finale of Saturday Night Live with Ben Affleck hosting for the fifth time and musical performances by Kanye West. Though these two names are huge draws already, last night's episode also had special farewell sketches for two confirmed departing cat members, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen. The loss of these two comedians will be felt next season, especially is Jason Sudeikis also leaves as he is rumored to do, but saying good-bye was a nice treat. Luckily Amy Poehler also stopped by for a special "Weekend Update" segment! Plus Kanye West performed two new songs "Black Skinhead" and "New Slaves."

Keenan Thompson's impression of Reverend Al Sharpton was easily his best performance. Maybe with him becoming the senior member of the cast next season we will get to see more of this! After this brief cold open (keeping them brief is a great idea SNL) we got to enjoy Affleck's monolgue. Last night's show was his fifth time hosting, so he was expecting a similar treatment to what happened when Justin Timberlake was welcomed into the "Five Timers Club." The outcome was pretty funny, plus we got to see Ben's wife Jennifer Garner for a quick little bit about his Oscar acceptance speech!
More fun was poked at Ben Affleck with the "Iranian Film" sketch. It was quick and allowed Ben to make fun of himself. It was a little sloppy, but it worked well!
The rest of the night's sketches worked pretty well and Affleck did a great job as host. Prehaps one of the most memorable sketches was towards the end of the night: "Hermes." Check it out right here:
