ULTRA Music Festival 2014 Dates Announced, Early Bird Tickets Available for Miami Music Week's 16th Annual EDM Experience; UMF Returns to Single Weekend: March 28-30
While some EDM-lovers are still recovering from ULTRA 15, the time is already here to start planning for ULTRA Music Festival 2014! Next year's March dates for the legendary music experience during Miami Music Week have recently been confirmed and early bird tickets are going on sale this week!
Although our bank accounts may be nearly drained from the countless upcoming summer music festivals, one more ticket purchase is absolutely necessary. Put some money aside and save the date for 16th edition of UMF, which has become one of the biggest music festivals in the world!
Ultra Music Festival 2014 will take place during the last weekend in March, from Friday March 28 through Sunday March 30 in Miami, Florida during Miami Music Week, reports the UNTZ.
Returning to its traditional single weekend tradition (at least for now), the best DJ's in the world will be bumping beats in Miami for three days only, making tickets an even hotter commodity than last year's two-weekend festival.
Early Bird Tickets for 2014 will go on sale on Tuesday, May 21 2013 at 1pm ET and are priced at $149.95 for general admission. Yes, you read that right! For a limited time only, tickets will be available exclusively at www.ultramusicfestival.com.
Last year's early bird tickets reportedly flew out within 5 minutes...so good luck!
Next year's event will mark a "new level, new experience." While being only half as long as this years event in an effort to "scale down proceedings," Ultra 2014 has a lot to live up to, reports MusicFeeds.
Dates for the additional weekend are pending the approval of the City of Miami Commission and will be released if they become available.
The house/EDM/trance/dubstep music scene has recently recruited so many followers that ULTRA 15 was expanded to a two-weekend event this past year, resulting in massive crowds flocking to Bayfront Park and Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami. UMF 2013 was attended by nearly 330,000 festival-goers and streamed by over 10 million people online (for the first time ever), officially making ULTRA the most viewed festival in North America to date, according to the UNTZ.
ULTRA has won "Best Music Event" by the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) six consecutive years, from 2005 to 2011, "Best International Dance Music Festival" by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008 and "Best Festival" by the Village Voice Media New Times consecutively five years running from 2005 through 2009.
Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, ULTRA has grown through the years to present not only the genre's hottest, biggest and best headline artists (The Prodigy, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, David Guetta, deadmau5, Underworld, Kraftwerk, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Carl Cox and Avicii to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, Snoop Dogg, Hot Chip, Crystal Castles, The Killers, New Order, Duran Duran, The Black Eyed Peas, Erasure, M83, Santigold, The Ting Tings, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Bloc Party).
Can next year's ULTRA Music Festival 2014 top this years UMF, which included Swedish House Mafia's final collaborative performance in the lineup and will go down in history? We shall see...
