Ol' Dirty B#stard Hologram: ODB's Widow Files Cease And Desist Against Rock The Bells Hologram

Though Rock the Bells revelers still have a killer line-up to look forward to, they may not get the opportunity to see Dirt McGirt himself perform with the recently reunited Wu-Tang Clan. Ol' Dirty Bastard was projected (wamp wamp) to reunite with the Clan via the same hologram technology that brought Tupac to Coachella last year. However, ODB's widow Icelene Jones   has filed a cease and desist order against Rock The Bells organizers to stop the hologram from happening.

Jones  is the administrator of ODB's estate and claims that she was not contacted by Rock the Bells with regards to using her late husband's likeness.

"I am disappointed that Rock the Bells would not contact me directly about the use of my husband's image,"Jones said in a press release. "I am looking forward to talking to Wu-Tang about this matter and coming up with a positive solution in order to bring my husband to the stage once again."

Though ODB's mother Cherry Jones was present at the announcement of the  Rock the Bells holograms (deceased NWA member Eazy-E will also be revived for a performance with Bone Thugs N Harmony), Icelene claims to be the sole executor of ODB's estate. The Wu-Tang member did not leave a written will.

Festival organizers Gorilla Union don't appear to be backing down. In an interview with HipHopDX, GU head Chang Weisberg appeared to be standing by his decision to use the holograms.

"If Tomica [Wright], Bone [Thugs-N-Harmony], RZA and Cherry [Jones] don't approve of what we're doing, I'll be the first one to tell everybody, 'I'm sorry. We didn't do it.' I can't do this. 'If you're disappointed, let's not do it.' But at the same time, knowing who I am and the team of people around me, there's no fuckin' way we're gonna let anybody down. It's that simple. That's my vision. Until we get there, my head's down in the ground. I'm not even gonna look up for air. I'm gonna make sure we change music history those nights."
