Jessica Sanchez: 'Glee' Star, American Idol Runner-up Happy With Winner Of This Year's American Idol, Will Perform On DWTS Season Finale
In case you think American Idol runner-up and Glee star Jessica Sanchez is bitter, you should know that she is totally happy for the winners of American Idol, especially this season's winner Candice Glover.
On the red carpet at The This Time Foundation's "Time For Hope Gala Fundraiser," Sanchez was asked for her thoughts on Candice being picked as the winner this season.
"I love Candice. She's my friend from last season. I was secretly rooting for her. That's my girl," said Sanchez.
Sanchez, who was a runner-up to Phillip Phillips last season, had some advice for second place finisher Kree Harrison.
"Just don't give up," she said "My album is out. I was on "Glee" and will be on "Dancing With The Stars" so don't give up."
Jessica certainly has been busy since her stint on Idol. Her new album Me, You & The Music debuted at number 26 on the Billboard charts. She recently appeared on Glee in the role of "legendary diva" Frida Romero. Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy had the following to say about her appearance:
"Well, when you have a voice like that, we wanted her to be in every episode this year. But she couldn't because of the tour. She is doing an album so we worked it out that she will probably do two or three episodes so that will probably be 16, 17, 18 when we get into the regionals competition."
And that's not all for the ever-busy Sanchez. She will be performing on 'Dancing with The Stars' tonight (May 21) as part of their season finale. She will join Pitbull and PSY as DWTS' special guests and will be performing a stripped-down version of "Feel This Moment."
