Beyonce, Shakira, Lady Gaga Appear On Forbes 'Most Powerful Women' List
Forbes has published a list of girls who do, in fact, "run the world." It should come as no surprise that Beyonce cracked the top 100, along with Shakira and Lady Gaga.
Beyonce came in at a respectable no. 17. The magazine says that her $50M deal with soft drink giant Pepsi, her Super Bowl performance, her HBO documentary and of course, the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, all factored into her breaking the global top 20.
Lady Gaga was next in line at 45. Though a hip injury has kept her out of the music game, the top Little Monster managed to hang on due to her social networking site for fans and her massive Twitter following. 2013 is a step down for Gaga who ranked 14th last year.
Shakira (Mebarak) made the list (52) for her stint on The Voice, a massive Live Nation deal and her philanthropy.
Beating out all three ladies to make the top 5 were: German Chancellor Angela Merkel (1), Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff(2), Philanthropist Melinda Gates (3), First Lady Michelle Obama (4) and Politician Hillary Clinton (5).
Check out the whole list over at Forbes.
What do you think of the listings? Did Shakira, Beyonce and Lady Gaga deserve to be on the list? Should they have been higher? Lower?
