'Star Trek Into Darkness' Deleted Scene [VIDEO]: Benedict Cumberbatch Hot Shower Scene Cut From Movie, J.J. Abrams on 'Conan'
Last night director J.J. Abrams went on TBS' "Conan" to talk about Star Trek Into Darkness and he brought an exclusive deleted scene from the film for O'Brien. The clip was in response to the recent backlash that the movie has been getting for a certain scene that features actress Alice Eve in skimpy lingerie. Abrams explains the controversial scene, admitting that he understands why there have been complaints, and then offers up a sexy shower scene clip featuring the films villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
Host Conan O'Brien brings up the fact that the movie has recently been getting some bad press over the seen where Alice Eve show's a little too much skin for some viewers in Star Trek Into Darkness. They show a picture of the Eve in the film, and Abrams tries to explain why he had that scene in the film. The director explained that he considered the scene a way to balance out an earlier scene featuring Chris Pine in little to nothing. A picture of pine is also shown. But Abrams admits to understanding why people are not happy about the Eve scene and that he felt that he could have edited the controversial scene in a better way.
"Some people did feel like it was exploiting her -- while she is lovely, I could also see their point," Abrams said.
Abrams then tells Conan that he brought another steamy scene along with him that was not used in the film. In the deleted scene, actor Benedict Cumberbatch is featured brooding in a shower. Conan and Abrams call this scene "the shower of evil" considering the look on Cumberbatch's face during the seemingly frustrating shower. The host even adds some new music to the scene to add some flavor to it.
