Kate Middleton Baby Bump, Due Date: Pregnant Duchess Open to C-Section Delivery For July Birth, Will She Follow Princess Diana's Nursing Tradition?
Whether or not the Duchess of Cambridge's due date is in mid- or late July, the royal will reportedly leave the options of delivery up to the qualified doctors on hand. Considering the news of the birth reportedly being pushed back to late July, rumors of a C-section delivery have been on the minds of many and it looks like Kate might be okay with the idea. It also looks like the 31-year-old wife of Prince William is into the idea of breastfeeding for when the future heir needs to nurse.
Just as many mothers including Prince William's, the late Princess Diana, choose to breastfeed their children, Kate is most likely to follow suit. Though traditionally the royals do not take part in this nursing practice, meaning Prince William was possibly the first royal baby to be breastfed. So Kate might be breaking tradition once again!
Author Daisy Goodwin was recently interviewed on 20/20: Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition and she stated that she felt the Duchess would most likely choose to breastfeed her baby.
"I'm sure she'll do exactly what most women in this country do which is to breastfeed," she said.
Though reports have claimed both a mid- and late July due date for the future heir to the thrown, it is still on its way. When considering the safest procedures for any birth, doctors have to be trusted by the mother. Luckily, it looks like Kate will indeed entrust her physicians with all decisions during the delivery.
"When it comes to the birth itself, Kate will leave all the decisions to the doctors on the day about whether it's a natural birth, what pain control she'll have or if it needs to be a Caesarean," said Robert Jobsen, a royal correspondent.
Is Kate's apparent openness to a C-section delivery good news to you? And what do you think of her choice to breastfeed the royal infant?
