Quincy Pondexter, Chandler Lawson: Memphis Grizzlies Forward Scores Miss Tennessee 2012 Twitter Date in Offseason

The Memphis Grizzlies might have had a disappointing end to their season, but small forward Quincy Pondexter isn’t letting that get in the way of his love life. As most people do, the 25-year-old NBA star turned to Twitter on a seemingly lonely Wednesday night this week and searched for a date. He might have set his sights a little high by asking who the current Miss Tennessee is, but in somewhat of an Internet success story it worked out! Miss Tennessee 2012 Chandler Lawson accepted an invitation to a date!

Pondexter started his tweeting off with a simple question:

This of course attracted some attention, to which Pondexter admitted he was looking for a “GF.”

This attracted even more attention and Vernon (Memphis radio personality and Grizzlies fan) offered to be a “wingman” for the NBA player. Though any sort of help that Vernon suggested, including a dating game radio segment, was put on hold when a certain Miss Tennessee noticed the original tweet:

From there, the conversation took off and ended in a date proposal and acceptance!

Unfortunately for Pondexter, his teammate Mike Conley doesn’t think his chances of a second date are high:
