In tonight's episode of Hannibal entitled "Roti," we get to see the return of serial killer Dr. Gideon (Eddie Izzard) in a thrilling storyline involving his escape from his mental institution. The preview clips also suggest that Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) helps the escaped doctor in his search for Dr. Bloom (Caroline Dhavernes). It seems like the main characters have been the targets of these newer killers. For instance in last week's "Buffet Froid," Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) was targeted by the deformed and tortured killer who had extreme face blindness. (SPOILERS to follow)

"Buffet Froid" opens like a generic horror movie - A young woman is home alone and gets ready for bed, only to discover some creepy occurrences. Eventually, the monster under the bed gets her. Our murderer was literally hiding under the bed.

We are next transported to Will Graham gutting a fish he had just caught. Unfortunately, as we know by now, Will has been losing track of time at an increasingly serious pace. This time, he finds himself in the crime scene - literally. As an audience we are used to seeing Graham put himself in the place of the killer when examining crime scene, so when he wakes up in the middle of this process it is utterly harrowing. Will has contaminated the crime scene and is clearly in trouble mentally.

He consults Hannibal who runs a simple drawing test. He asks Will to draw a clock face with the current time and to announce to himself where he is at that moment. The result is a poorly constructed drawing that Will is not aware of. Hannibal brings him to get a CAT scan by his friend Dr. Sutcliffe. The two doctors find out that Will is suffering from mental and neurological conditions but decide not to tell him.

Meanwhile, Will is relating to the killer: a young woman who has fallen so deeply into her mental illness that she can no longer see faces and believes herself to be dead. Though Will's ability to put himself into the minds of killers is one of the draws of the show, he genuinely empathizes with this tortured young woman. After examining the crime scene by himself, he runs into the killer who is back under the bed. Eventually, she starts to follow Will. Soon Dr. Sutcliffe is discovered dead - killed in the same way the earlier victim was. Then Will finds the killer under his bed. Clearly a chilling scene, it soon turns into a touching moment between the two characters.

As the show ends, we find out that Hannibal actually murdered Sutcliffe. Do you think this was a good idea?
