'Getaway' Movie Trailer [VIDEO]: Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke Star in Car Chase Thriller, in Theaters August 30, 2013

It looks like Selena Gomez feels comfortable in the more adult-themed movie roles that she is taking on. She recently starred in Spring Breakers and the first trailer for her new film Getaway just came out, showing another edgy side to Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend. Getway also stars acclaimed actor Ethan Hawke in the leading role and it looks like the two spend most of the movie inside a car travelling at dangerous speeds.

From this first look, we can tell that this film is along the lines of Taken and that genre of kidnapping movie, but the aspect of Hawke's character being an incredible driver makes it a little more interesting. Plus when Gomez's character unintentionally gets wrapped up in the drama of the driver's life it adds a whole new layer to the already stressful story.

As the film progresses, it looks like these two strangers have to come together for the greater good of getting out of the situation alive.

Getaway is the gritty, heart-pounding action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment in which former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage.
