TobyMac has had a very successful year, winning the award for Artist of the Year at the first annual K-Love Fan Awards last weekend (May 31- June 2). He has sold over 11 millions albums and received 5 Grammy® awards over the course of his career.
His most recent album, 'Eye On It,' released in August 2012, was extremely successful, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 charts and topping the Overall iTunes® Chart shortly after its release. Songs from the album continue to be featured in the top songs on the Christian AC Indicator charts. The new album features the dominant theme of keeping our eyes on God and ways that He is moving in our lives.
"What is it like to live a life of faith? It doesn't look perfect, I can promise you that," TobyMac said, according to his website. "We're all struggling. We're struggling to mend relationships, to love people well, and to love God. But the gift of walking this life of faith is that you can make it right each day. You can turn and start over, determined, with your eye on it."
TobyMac continues to tour, with his next destination set to be AtlantaFest, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, on June 14. From there, he will continue to tour the U.S. with the help of other great Christian music artists in order to get his message of focus and hope heard throughout the country.
"I'm wired for the live show," he says. "That's the way you get your music out there and every year we're doing 100 shows or more. The most amazing feeling for any artist/songwriter is to take a song that came from your heart and have the audience sing every word along with you. That is a sweet humbling moment."
