Jay-Z To Sign Kevin Durant Roc Nation Sports? [PHOTOS]: Jigga Still Needs to Set Nets Shares, NFL Players Association Investigating Roc Nation Sports
Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports Empire already represents some of the top athletes in the world. From Giants Quarterback Victor Cruz, to Skylar Diggins, and the Jets Baller Geno Smith, Jay-Z has been expanding his sports brand since he announced that he would be selling his shares of the Nets, and stepping down as part owner. Rumors are now circulating that Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is in talks to join with Roc Nation Sports fam as well.
According to Sports Illustrated Wire, OKC forward Kevin Durant, has left his agency, Landmark Sports and is expected to join Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports. It is no shock that Durant could possibly join Hov's Roc Nation all-star roster.
Durant was second in the NBA in scoring this season and averaged 28.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 51% from the field, Sports Illustrated Wire reported. He finished second in NBA MVP voting in 2012-13 and was named first-team All-NBA for the fourth straight season.
Although Durant may want to seal a deal with Roc Nations Sports, he will have to wait until Jay-Z sells his shares of The Brooklyn Nets.
Mstarz News reported April 10 Jay-Z, the "face" and part share owner of the Brooklyn, Nets will now sell his shares to represent sports players as an agent, but according to Sports Illustrated the Grammy Award winning rapper has yet to so.
The NFL Players Association is keeping a close watch on how Roc Nation is acquiring its roster of athletes, and met with Roc Nation representatives in Washington, D.C., this week to discuss Jay-Z's involvement in the recruitment of Smith, reports NFL.com.
