‘Friday Night Lights’ Movie: Cast Reunites At ATX Television Festival, Reminisces, Talks Movie Possibility [VIDEO]

Fans of the critically acclaimed "Friday Night Lights" television series received a very special treat this weekend when lead actors Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton made a surprise appearance at the FNL panel at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Tx.

The second annual ATX Television Festival had scheduled a "Friday Night Lights" panel that included Scott Porter (Jason Street), Gaius Charles (Brian "Smash" Williams), Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty) and Brad Leland (Buddy Garrity), along with a few "special guests."

Those special guests turned out to be Chandler (Coach Eric Taylor) and Britton (Tami Taylor/Mrs. Coach).

The official Twitter feed of the ATX Television Festival took a Vine video of the surprise moment, which shows the crowd cheering with excitement.

According to TVLine, Chandler was "visibly moved" as the screen at the theater showed clips of the show. During the discussion, Chandler intimated, "I was lucky I could work with everyone."

Porter then retorted, "No, we were lucky."

In a humorous yet emotional moment, Chandler was telling a story to the audience and referred to Porter as "Jason," which caused Britton to correct him just as her character would.

Mae Whitman, a devoted "Friday Night Lights" fan who co-starred as Lauria's love interest on "Parenthood," asked the first question during the panel.

Despite the joy and warm feelings at the panel, the elephant in the room was still present and the actors fielded questions about the long-rumored "Friday Night Lights" movie.

Each of the cast members said they are invested in the idea of a film set after the show, but informed the audience that there are no definitive plans to make it happen at this time.
