Legendary funk guitarist Nile Rodgers recently revealed that he had one of the most awkward conversations of his life with pop star Madonna back in the 1980s while he was producing her hit record Like A Virgin. According to Rodgers, who most recently collaborated with Daft Punk on their hit single "Get Lucky," the "Holiday" singer became angry with him because he did not try to sleep with her during their time working together. Madonna was confused at his lack of advances towards her because she was an international sex symbol but could not get her producer to try anything.

"I was standing at an elevator when she goes, 'Why don't you want to f*** me?' I was like, 'What did you just say to me?' She was wondering why I had not propositioned her," Rodgers said. "She couldn't understand that. It was like, 'Everybody wants me'."

"One time I slept with a really beautiful artist I was working with," the 60-year-old guitarist explained, adding, "and it was a really wrong thing to do. So, I didn't work like that."

"I grew as close to Madonna as I've ever been to a woman without being romantically involved," Rodgers said of his friendship with the international superstar.

"She was the most driven person. The day I met her she said, 'I'm going to be a really big superstar'."

Rodgers also admitted that Madonna was the person who helped him decide to quit abusing drugs and alcohol after an embarrassing incident during the "Like a Prayer" singer's 38th birthday party.

"I don't remember any of this. But I was told I was carried out of Madonna's house," he admitted. "It was the most embarrassing night of my life. I have never had a drink or taken drugs since."
