Katy Perry New Popchips Ad [VIDEO]: WATCH as Sexy Songstress Raps, Fights Fat with Cats
Fans looking for a new video (or a snack) from Katy Perry have a little something to whet their appetite. The star has released a new ad today (June 12) for Popchips, the low calorie snack for which she is the spokeswoman.
The three-and-a-half minute digital short shows Katy and the Popcats fighting against Fat Cat, an evil feline out to promote his fatty chips for everyone. Perry and her girls will have none of that, though, and aim to give people healthy snacking choices.
Of course, a video with Perry would not be complete without music. However, this Popchips ad sees the singer in a new musical territory: rap. Perry presents her Popcats in the introductory song, while boasting about having nine lives and representing her girls with some meows.
What follows the rap is a clip full of cat puns and snack jokes. Perry takes shots of milk and "smells a catfight," all in the name of a better munching alternative. The twists and turns of the action-packed video are best seen for oneself, so check out the clip below:
Perry's sexy, skintight purple leather jumpsuit shows off her hourglass figure purr-fectly and seems to prove that choosing Popchips may just be the better choice.
After finding the healthy snack food in a hotel mini-bar and tweeting about it last year, the 28-year-old singer was named as Popchips' celebrity spokeswoman in July. She has since gone on to shoot multiple photo ads for the brand and create her own flavor, Katy's Kettle Korn. Perry is also an investor in the company.
Even though Perry had an extremely busy 2012 with the release of her documentary Part of Me, she shows no signs of slowing down. According to Perez Hilton, the singer is hallway done with her third album.
The release is slated to take a different turn musically, as well as lyrically, from her other albums. Reportedly, Perry will be using her recent relationships for lyrical content, though she will not be naming names.
"Maybe I'm not specific with names, but that's my lockbox where all my secrets go. Writing is like therapy," she told reporters at Press Party.
