Kate Upton Dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy?: Sports Illustrated Model Celebrates 21st Birthday with 'Dancing With the Stars' Pro, 'Just Good Friends'?

Two-time Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl Kate Upton recently turned 21 years old and it looks like she might have gotten a boyfriend as a gift. Kate and "Dancing with the Stars" dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy were allegedly spotted on a birthday date in the Upper East Side of Manhattan recently at Scalinatella. Though sources close to the young model are denying any romance between the two, eyewitnesses claim the dinner was indeed a romantic occasion.

"It's very new," one source said of the alleged romance between Upton and Chmerkovskiy. "They were set up through friends. They just started dating."

When contacted, a representative for the 33-year-old dancer revealed that they had "heard nothing about them dating." Also, a source close to Upton stated that the two "are just good friends." 

In fact, the restaurant where the two dined the other not even shared some information that debunks the dating rumors. According to some members of the management at Scalinatella, the dinner did "not look intimate at all," adding that the two appeared to be "just friends."

Though another eyewitness that was at the restaurant at the same time said the exact opposite of what the management had said. "They were very canoodly," the source revealed. "It was a very intimate meal."

Clearly this story is going back and forth but most rumors about Upton dating have been false so far. So this one is most likely just a rumor. Kate was previously linked to music mogul Sean "P. Diddy" combs and MLB pitcher Justin Verlander, to name a few.

Kate Upton is currently shooting The Other Woman, which also features Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. This will be Kate's first starring role in a feature film.  Previously, she had cameos in 2011's Tower Heist and 2012's The Three Stooges.
