There are plenty of rumors surrounding the new Star Wars films and the franchise in general. Hopefully you can pick through the facts to figure out what's real and what's just speculation.  For instance, EA just announced a new Star Wars: Battlefront video game, so expect a lot of storyline confusion from now on. Also, with the success of this summer's Man of Steel, will director Zack Snyder be offered one of the upcoming Star Wars films set for release in the future? Episode VII's slated director J.J. Abrams got the offer for his success in the sci-fi genre, so it is definitely plausible. Speaking of Abrams, Star Wars creator George Lucas recently spoke about his excitement over the director choice, so what have the two been talking about? According to another recent interview, they have yet to talk at all about the project!

Lucas recently said that he would not be involved in the new Star Wars film, and trusts the vision of director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy. He also said that if they asked him for help he would advise them accordingly. But a recent interview has revealed that Lucas has yet to talk at all about the film with Abrams.

"I have not spoken to J.J." George said. "He's been busy with Star Trek, and I'm sure that he'll let me know when he's got some questions. So, you know, that's all going well. Kathy tells me it's working out great."

Does this lack of communication between the franchise's creator and the new director worry you in terms of how Episode VII will turn out?

Speaking of directors, Man of Steel's Zack Snyder was recently asked about a possible job in the Star Wars franchise. He responded:

If someone were to see the movie and say, like, "Dang, this guy can make a sci-fi movie," that's cool. But ... yeah. I like to think that I kind of did that before this, but... yeah. I think so. It's something to regard.

Would you like to see Snyder direct a Star Wars film?
