The world turned upside down when indie rock band The Postal Service announced their reunion earlier this year. Now, a video for their first single in 10 years, "A Tattered Line of String," makes everything topsy-turvy too.

Today (June 18), the collaboration tweeted out the video for "A Tattered Line of String," which features ex-Rilo Kiley member and Postal Service contributor Jenny Lewis.

The clip begins with a flannel-donning man loading a washing machine, presumably at a Laundromat in New York City. When his clothes begin their spin cycle, so does the world. When the washing machine stops, so does the earth, leading to the conclusion that the old piece of equipment holds some sort of magical power.

Soon, clothes are spread everywhere, and the patrons of the Laundromat have no choice but to swim in the half-clean garments.

Similarly, a girl swinging is shown to have the same power at the washing machine.

The two tumble and tumble to who knows where.

The band, comprised of Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard and producer Jimmy Tamborello, makes no appearance in the promo. The duo is off busy celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album Give Up on the road.

The Postal Service also announced that they will make their first ever TV appearance tomorrow night on The Colbert Report. The show will air June 19 at 11:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.
