Florence Welch and Dev Hynes have put a new spin on a pop megahit. At a Human Rights Campaign benefit, the Florence + The Machine singer covered Icona Pop's "I Love It," and the result is equal parts beautiful and haunting.

Welch's live cover is backed simply by Hynes playing the piano while she belts out the lyrics. The tempo is notably slower and subdued that Icona Pop's hyper original. The new speed gives the lyrics to the song an entirely new feeling.

While the original sounds flippant, fun and carefree, Welch sounds nearly heartbroken. The words get a new emphasis and a breakup seems to be the center of the song.

Despite the heavy-hitting cover, Welch appears to be having fun in the video. After getting done singing her heart out, the "Dog Days Are Over" songstress flashes an enormous smile.

This isn't the first time Florence Welch has covered a pop hit. She's been known to sing Beyonce's "Halo," "Hospital Beds" by Cold War Kids and Robert Palmer's classic hit "Addicted to Love." Her strong vocal capabilities always give the tracks a new level of emotion.
