Chris Brown Aaliyah 'They Don't Know' [VIDEO]: Breezy' Talks 'Boyz in the Hood' Visual Concept, Says ' I Wanted To Make It Not So Hollywood, Wealthy Or Rich'

It's no surprise that artists miss and adore late singer Aaliyah. From Jay-Z to Drake the music industries best have used samples of her vocals to pay homage to the late Princess of Pop and R&B who was gone to soon. Chris Brown is the latest artist to use prerecorded samples of Aaliyah's vocals for "They Don't Know" the latest single of his upcoming album "X." Chris chatted with MTV News to explain the black and white yet vibrant video for the track, featuring graphics of the "Are You That Somebody?" singer.

"Well, with the concept of the video, I wanted to bring a different aspect of it, not make it so Hollywood or wealthy or rich," The "Fine China" singer told MTV News on Saturday backstage at Power 106's annual Powerhouse concert in Los Angeles.

According to Complex, Brown and his crew hit Compton May 12 to film a tribute video for the fallen singer. MTV News confirmwd that the video was actually shot on Cedar Block, an infamous South Los Angeles neighborhood known for gang violence The video features hints of symbolic red and blue colors to represent the crips and bloods."When I did the video I wanted to do kind of like the 'Boyz N the Hood' theme," Brown told MTV News, refering to the 1991 classic film.

"[I'm] bringing both worlds together and trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I'm from," Chris said at a press conference for the 2013 BET Awards earlier this year. "I'm from Virginia, but everybody comes from a broken home or being broke-I remember when I was."
