Sir Paul McCartney is a legendary musician who has won over millions of fans through his talent and charisma. His son, James, might have inherited some of his father's talent but definitely not the charisma. In a recent interview on "BBC Breakfast," the 35-year-old musician had the opportunity to talk about his new record and his music in general, but he mainly came off as shy and awkward. People who have witnessed the interview have been calling it a "car-crash." Hosts Bill Turnbull and Susanna Reid did their best to make the interview move smoothly, but it was simply "excruciating" to watch, according to viewers.

The only son of Paul and his late wife Linda seems like a shy and serious individual when it comes to his music. When answering certain questions about his new album, Me, he kept his responses short and to-the-point. Unfortunately that does not make for good television and people have been bad-mouthing the singer-songwriter for it.

When asked about the recording process of his first full-length album, James mumbled through his writing process, explaining that it took a few years and a few studio visits to create Me.

"Maybe a couple of years, going into different studios, spending time writing the lyrics and the music, just enjoying the process," he explained

His father is a guest musician on one of the tracks, so when Turnball jokingly asked who the man in the credits named Paul McCartney was, James deadpanned, "Oh, he's my father."

After exhausting the usual questions about his music, the hosts turned to more personal questions about his family. When asked of his relationship with his former step-mother Heather Mills, James admitted his relationship with her was "not very good."

"I didn't like her," he said. "But I wouldn't want to say anything negative about her because she's good mother to Beatrice [Sir Paul's daughter by Mills] and that's the most important thing."

Take a look at a clip of the interview below: Do you think that it was "awkward" or "car-crash television" as some described it on Twitter?
