WATCH Miley Cyrus Perform 'We Can't Stop' and 'Fall Down' with will.i.am on Good Morning America, Explains Controversial Video and Song Lyrics [VIDEO]
Miley Cyrus is on a media blitz promoting her comeback single "We Can't Stop." After performing on Jimmy Kimmel last night, the former Hannah Montana took to the top of Times Square this morning to sing her new song on Good Morning America.
Donning very high-waisted white shorts, thigh-high black heeled boots and a sequined I Love NY crop top, Miley sang "We Can't Stop" with a live fervor little seen. Though she's just now recovering from an illness, Cyrus' vocals didn't falter as she paraded around onstage and slapped backup dancer's booties.
Cyrus performed a second track, will.i.am's single "Fall Down," on which she is a featured artist. The duo danced onstage to the upbeat, supportive song.
Watch the performances below:
Cyrus mentioned what exactly "We Can't Stop" means to her. Though on the surface it seems like another summer party jam, the singer insists it has a little more going on.
"It's where I am now but it's almost what 'Party in the USA' was. It brings people together; it's what people need to hear right now," she said. "I feel people need to know we can't stop with everything going on in the world being the way it is. I think people just need to hear something that's inspirational but also it's just about having a good time."
Cyrus also insisted that people who thought the video was a little too racy for a young starlet haven't partied "in a minute."
She also thanked her Smilers for their support during her rough family time and addressed her will-they-won't-they relationship drama head on: "I'm wearing a ring, aren't I?"
