Citizen Way: 'Nothing Ever (Could Separate Us),' Silly Video Released In Celebration Of New Single [Watch Video]
On June 24, Citizen Way released a silly video that documents the band members, friends, and other members of the Calhoun family (relatives of Josh and Ben), trying to solve a chain puzzle, to celebrate the release of the band's new single 'Nothing Ever (Could Separate Us).'
"To commemorate the release of our newest single, 'Nothing Ever (Could Separate Us),' I thought we'd have a little fun and do this puzzle here," said Ben Calhoun, vocalist and guitarist for the band. "Now, I have been trying to solve and unravel this for a while and I can't figure it out, but let's see if we can find someone who can."
The puzzle in question is a metal 'chain-brain' puzzle, the objective of which is to separate the ring from the chain. The video is accompanied by some silly mariachi music as well as goofy sound effects. It documents each other the band members, friends and siblings, trying to solve the puzzle by any means necessary, whether that be playing tug-of-war with it, karate chopping it, rolling around on the floor with it, jumping up and down on top of it, or even biting it. The next-generation Calhouns, Ava and Savannah, even got in on the challenge as they ran around outside.
At a couple of points in the video, David Blascoe, drummer for the band, played a silly song on the piano and did a little dance. The challenge was finally won by Josh's wife, Kaia Calhoun in a matter of seconds, leaving the band members in awe, as well as a fair bit embarrassed. At the end of the video Citizen Way thanked its fans for watching the 'Chain Game' and, more importantly, for supporting them in all of their musical endeavors.
The band, comprised of Josh Calhoun on piano, Ben Calhoun on vocals/guitar, Ben Blascoe on bass and David Blascoe on drums, released their debut album, 'Love Is The Evidence,' on April 23. They have become increasingly popular since the release with the release of hit songs like 'Nothing Ever (Could Separate Us),' 'Should've Been Me,' and 'Love Is The Evidence. They were even nominated fro breakthrough artist of the year at the first annual K-Love Fan Awards.
