The Avengers 2 News: Vin Diesel Joining Cast As Vision? ‘Fast And Furious’ Actor Posts Marvel Meeting Message On Facebook

Vin Diesel is best known for his work in the Fast and the Furious series of movies, but the actor could soon find his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Diesel posted the following somewhat cryptic message on his official Facebook page on Wednesday night:

"Marvel has requested a meeting... no idea what for... haha, you probably know better than me..."

The announcement only mentions an extremely preliminary stage of getting Diesel into a Marvel movie, but this is not the first time the actor and Marvel have been linked.

Last summer, Diesel changed his profile picture on Facebook to a picture of the character Vision, an android superhero originally created by Ultron to use against the Avengers. He can phase out of a solid state and turn himself into a ghost-like presence.

Ordinarily, an actor's seemingly innocuous change of a profile picture would not be news. But the website Bleeding Cool pointed out that Diesel has, in the past, used his Facebook page to actively promote his projects. He did so with the upcoming Riddick: Rule the Dark movie, the third movie in the Riddick series that is due out Sept. 6.

So Diesel's post on Wednesday could eventually lead to a role as Vision, possibly in The Avengers 2 in 2015. Or it could lead to another role entirely. Or it could mean absolutely nothing.

Fans will have to wait to find out.
