It's been a long three years for Avenged Sevenfold fans. The pop-metal Californians haven't released an album since 2010's Nightmare. However, they are about to end their drought. A7X just announced Hail To The King, their first new album completely devoid of drums by the late The Rev.

According to Warner Bros., the album will drop on August 27. It will be produced by Mike Elizondo and follow up their number one album Nightmare which spawned the singles "So Far Away","Buried Alive" and "Welcome to the Family."

Of course, many would argue that the band hasn't put out a good album since their first foray into pop, City Of Evil. They never went back to the brutality of the Sounding The Seventh Trumpet and, as their albums have become more and more pop-sensible, metalheads departed the bands fanbase.

What do you think of Avenged Sevenfold's new album Hail To The King? Do you think the latest from A7X will be worthwhile?
