Kendrick Lamar [VIDEO]: 'Backstreet Freestyle' Rappers Talks Kanye West 'Yeezus', Says Album 'Was Hard to Grasp', Dr. Dre Presents Kendrick With Vanguard Award

Kanye West always sparks conversation and his sixth album Yeezus, is no exception. Knedrick Lamar chatted with MTV News about his thoughts on the album as he begins with being a little confused at first listen.

"It was hard for me to grasp it on the first take," Kendrick told MTV News. However, buy the end of the week he understood Kanye's creativity. Kendrick said that Kanye's album and creative freedom paves the way for artists like himself, Drake, and J.Cole.

When MTV News asked Kendrick weather he thought that Yeezus was a rap album, Kendrick said he is OK with an album having no classification and just being considered music.

Kanye, must be doing a great job of paving the way for Kendrick because the "Backstreet Freestyle" rapper is on his way to the top. The 2013 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards were held Thursday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California and Kendrick Lamar was presented with the Vanguard Award.
