Red Hot Chili Peppers New Album 2013 RUMORS: Will Band Hit Studio to Record New Music in September? Drummer Chad Smith Sparks 'Comeback' Tour 2014 Buzz on Twitter
The Red Hot Chili Peppers released their tenth studio album "I'm With You" in 2011 - now rumors suggest that the "Give It Away" rockers plan on recording a new album this fall... maybe as early as September! According to drummer Chad Smith, Anthony Kiedis and the gang currently have "little ideas percolating" - and several Twitter fans can't wait for a 2014 "comeback" tour. Perhaps with the Foo Fighters? Read on for more details!
Smith recently told Billboard (via NME) - "We're probably looking at getting together in September and getting on a roll and starting to write songs for the next record... We always have little ideas percolating in jams and rehearsal warm-ups and soundchecks and gigs."
Describing the band's songwriting process, Smith reveals, "Sometimes we bust into stuff ... We just kind of play whatever, so we always have those little tidbits. But we don't have any fully-formed songs until the four of us get in a room together. That's when the real writing process starts. So, yeah, we're looking at the fall."
MediaMass (FYI - a PRANK news website) claims that the Red Hot Chili Peppers have already hit the studio to record new tunes - as many as eight songs are already finished. “It’s still in the early stages... They got security on the doors to ensure no-one hears a whisper,” an alleged "source" says.
The website insinuates that the band is currently planning a worldwide "comeback" tour by the end of 2014.
It wouldn't really be considered a comeback tour... the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been performing nonstop for years. They were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
But if the new album rumors are true, Twitter fans can't wait:
