Thousand Foot Krutch: 'Metamorphosiz II The End Remixes Vol. II' Joins Top Rock Albums At No. 3 Alongside Other New Christian Music Releases
Thousand Foot Krutch's 'Metamorphosiz II The End Remixes Vol. II,' a new EP that was released today (July 2), has joined the ranks of new Christian music releases topping to iTunes Top Rock Albums chart.
Of the top six rock albums on the chart, three of those albums fall within the genre of Christian rock (alongside The Beatles and Bob Seger). Skillet's 'Rise,' which was released on June 25, currently holds the No. 1 position, August Burns Red's 'Rescue and Restore,' released on June 25 as well, currently holds the No. 6 position, and now Thousand Foot Krutch's 'Metamorphosiz II The End Remixes Vol. II,' is holding position No. 3.
On the day of the new album release TFK tweeted, "The #TFKARMY has put the Remix EP into the Top 10 on iTunes Rock Albums! Can we go higher?" Then, within the next hour or so they tweeted again saying, "Well, you guys have really stepped up. We are #5 on the iTunes Rock Chart....dare we say #1?" Then, under an hour after that, they tweeted, "Ok, pretty insane, we just passed The Beatles on iTunes! WHAT????? You guys are AMAZING! We are #3 now, almost to that #1! We can do it!"
The new EP features 6 remixed tracks from the band's last album, 'The End Is Where We Begin,' which was released in 2012. These trackins include, 'Fly on the Wall,' 'The End Is Where We Begin,' 'Courtesy Call,' 'Down,' 'Be Somebody' and 'So Far Gone.' The songs were remixed by Robbie Bronnimann (Nicki Minaj, Chicane), Andy Hunter (The Matrix: Reloaded, The Italian Job, ABC's Alias), Solomon Olds (Family Force 5, Newsboys), Rui Da Silva and Joshua Silverberg.
It follows the successful first volume, released in December 2012, which saw No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Albums chart during its first week out. Remixers, Bronnimann, Hunter and Olds were all featured on Volume I as well. Bronnimann worked on popular singles, 'Fly On The Wall' and 'Be Somebody.' Hunter and Olds worked on the tracks, 'Down' and 'The End I Where We Begin.' Meanwhile, Silva took on 'Courtesy Call' while Silverberg worked on 'So Far Gone,' the band's current Top 10 hit-single.
Thousand Foot Krutch is excited to be taking this new journey together and along with their audience. "I think this is a step forward in a new and inspired direction for us musically and as a band," said front man, Trevor McNevan, according to the band's website. "It's everything we could've hoped for and we're excited to head into this season."
The new album resembles 'The End Is Where We Begin' in many ways, however, it is much more electronic sounding and danceable, like something you might hear in a party or a dance club.
Christian rock music has really made a splash in the popular rock scene taking over the Top 5 and spreading its influence into various facets of the rock music industry. Skillet has been growing in popularity within the rock genre over the past few years and August Burns Red has brought understated Christian sentiments into the American Medalcore scene.
