Marie Osmond Show CANCELLED by Hallmark and Heading to Syndication in Fall 2014, Fans React on Social Media

Marie Osmond and Hallmark Channel are parting ways. After one season of the talk show Marie, the channel announced yesterday (July 2) that a second season is not in the cards, cancelling the show.

In a statement to Deadline.com, Hallmark decided to go in the direction of "lifestyle service shows that inform and entertain out viewers with how to, tips and ideas for living their best lives" during the daytime.

However, this does not mean the end of Marie, per se. Associated Television International are looking to put the talk show in to syndication for fall of 2014. Following the distribution of shows such as Ellen, the plan is to make Marie available to as many viewers as possible.

Regardless of the positive outlook for the TV show in a year or so, fans are not particularly happy about Hallmark dumping Osmond.

Hundreds of Marie viewers have taken to social media to express their disappointment in Hallmark cancelling the program.

"Very sad to hear Hallmark will not be renewing the show... This show was inspiring for sure!" said one Facebook fan. Another woman commented "So sorry to hear that Marie's show is being cancelled. I don't think it was given a fair time to be discovered... It's very well done, interesting and clean!"

Other fans are less civil and have invited the Hallmark Channel to "bite" them.

Of course, Marie was not Osmond's first time on television. The country singer co-hosted a variety show with her brother Donny Osmond in the 1970s. She was also a guest host on CBS' The Talk.
