50 Cent's Ex Reveals Identity Through Law Firm after Domestic Violence Allegations, Daphne Joy Had Role in 'Pirates of The Caribbean'
The identity of the ex-girlfriend who has alleged that rapper 50 Cent broke into her Los Angeles home, kicked her, and made a general mess, has released her identity through her law firm.
"Daphne Joy and Curtis Jackson have been together for a few years in an exclusive relationship," read a statement by the law firm of Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers. "They had a child and now Daphne's number one priority is to ensure both her and the baby's safety during this difficult time. We also hope everyone will respect her and the baby's privacy."
Joy has worked as both an actress and a model, with her most noticeable role being what CNN described as a "principal mermaid" in "Pirates of The Caribbean: Stranger Tides." She has also had minor roles in the television programs "CSI: Las Vegas," "Criminal Minds," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Wild 'N Out."
Despite the claims from the law firm that 50 Cent and Joy are currently in a relationship, the Los Angeles prosecutor's office has described her as "a former girlfriend." 50, aka Curtis Jackson, faces one count of domestic abuse and four counts of vandalism, which could bring as much as $45,000 in damages and up to five years in prison.
"It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest," said Scott Leemon, Jackson's attorney. "We have been in contact with the LA City Attorney's Office and are currently conducting our own investigation into these allegations."
50's arraignment is scheduled for July 22 at Van Nuys Superior Court.
